Reference Guide
This guide explains the terminology used throughout the Hedgerwyn platform and describes how the site's interface is laid out, to help you navigate it confidently from your first visit.
Key terms used in this information centre
Understanding these terms will help you read the platform's reference material and use the service more effectively.
Information centre
The framing used to describe Hedgerwyn's primary role: a resource that organises and presents reference material about an AI-enabled service, rather than a tool that performs direct operations on behalf of users.
Reference material
The structured content published on this site that explains the platform, its functions, and the enquiry process. Reference material is informational and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
Data review
The act of examining available information within a structured interface. Within the Hedgerwyn context, data review refers to reading categorised entries in a formatted view, not to processing or modifying external datasets.
Information organisation
The process of classifying and arranging reference material into sections that are easy to navigate. Hedgerwyn applies this as a design principle across all public-facing pages on this site.
Enquiry
A submission sent to the Hedgerwyn support team via the contact form on the Enquire page. Enquiries may request access, ask a general question, or seek clarification about the platform's capabilities or processes.
Access request
A specific type of enquiry in which a user formally requests entry to the Hedgerwyn service environment. Access is not automatically granted by submitting a request; it is confirmed by the support team after review.
Support team
The team at Hedgerwyn Systems Ltd responsible for reviewing and responding to enquiries. The team operates from the United Kingdom and can be reached at [email protected] or by telephone.
AI-enabled
Describes a service in which artificial intelligence forms part of the underlying approach to organising or presenting information. The term is used descriptively and does not imply any specific technical architecture or verified performance level.
Interface
The part of the service that users interact with directly — in this case, the pages of the Hedgerwyn website. The interface is designed to be navigable without specialist knowledge and is accessible through a standard browser.
Static site
A type of website served as fixed HTML files without server-side processing. This site is a static site, which means no server receives or processes your form submissions directly. The contact form uses a mailto action.
How this site is laid out
Each area of the site serves a specific purpose. This guide describes what you will find and where.
Site header and navigation
The header at the top of every page contains the Hedgerwyn wordmark and four navigation links: Home, Overview, Functions, and Enquire. These links take you to the four main public pages. The Enquire link is styled distinctly to make it easy to locate.
Main content area
The central part of each page contains the primary reference material for that section. Pages are divided into clearly headed sections. On wider screens, some sections display content in two columns; on smaller screens, content stacks into a single column.
Page-specific guidance strips
Several pages include a strip at the bottom of the main content area listing links to the other main pages. This is provided as a convenience for navigating between sections without scrolling back to the header.
Site footer
The footer at the bottom of every page contains links to all main sections, access and legal pages, and full contact details for Hedgerwyn Systems Ltd. It is intended as a secondary navigation reference and a quick point of contact.
Contact form
The form on the Enquire page contains four fields: name, email address, request type, and message. When you submit the form, your browser opens your email application with these details pre-filled and addressed to the support team. No information is sent automatically from this page.
Legal and support pages
The Privacy and Terms of Use pages are linked in the footer and on legal navigation elements throughout the site. The Platform Details and Reference Guide pages provide supplementary information and are also linked from the footer, though they are not listed in the main navigation.
